Community Food Bank

Food justice is an important part of community justice. We take donations form local businesses, online crowdfunding platforms and traditional Grant makers for use to fight hunger. Help us connect with donors that suppport people in need.

Community Social Capital Fundraising

Every month, we encourage each household in our nonprofit organization services receiver Communities to contribute the equivalence of $1 to a community development fund set with the consent of all. At the start of the scheme, the collections are kept in a cash box and protected by a community treasurer. The funds are used to support small community projects or given as a loan to families in case of emergencies.

Support us to train the community leaders on how to run the scheme and to provide them a savings box.

Community Institution Building

To root Actions in African Communities, through systemic and organic processes, this Nonprofit organization builds viable community based institutions in service receiver Communities. The community organizations this Nonprofit works with, have very clear and widely disseminated Mission statements, an agreed vision, well defined focal target groups, beneficiaries and a community led Action Program.

The Nonprofit organization also ensures each community organization has specific donors to work with, have their own project management arrangements, have an effective leadership arrangement, are legally registered and recognized in their Communities and countries, have documented guidance policies and procedures and have a strong man power capacity.

Services Receiver Groups and Communities Social Empowerment.

To enable the poor to feel free and able to openly express their opinions and to act as effective representatives of other deprived individuals, this nonprofit organization:

· Establishes and supports safe and homogeneous small functional community based development action-reflection forums in services receiver villages. Leaders on each community forum are provided interactive participant focused training on

o Development Education for Leadership Teams in Action (DELTA)

o Poverty and Social Impact Advocacy (PSIA)

o Regenerated Freirian Literacy in Empowering Community Techniques (REFLECT) Circle management

o Result Based Management (RBM) of community development projects

o Participative Planning Monitoring and Evaluation(PPME) of community project cycles.

o Sexual and Gender Based Violent (SGBV) management

o Development in transformative life skills

· To improve the social empowerment capacity of the poor, and to promote sharing of project action implementation experiences / best practices, the nonprofit encourages the community forums to become active members of Community Animation Teams (CAT) Networks of Services Receivers in their accessible geographical areas.

Economic Justice and Empowerment of Communities

This Nonprofit community development organization facilitates vulnerable men and women to access and control economic development resources such land, rivers, plantations, animals, estates of the dead, family funds, family capital items, houses, monies left by late spouse, family farm harvests, etc; should be on an equal and equitable basis for both men and women.

The organization, therefore conducts:

Village Savings and Loans schemes for women and young people to have more access to business finances.
.Mobile Cash Transfer initiatives for the most vulnerable groups in services receiver Communities,
Climate Sensitive Agricultural businesses with women and young people; to improve their access to sustainable household income.
Vocational Development education through apprenticeship for young people to iimprove Development of cottage industries and enterprises
Establish and support community owned Agricultural Businesses Centers (ABCs) for farmers to get easy access to farming inputs.
Support women and youth led households to undertake small backyard Agricultural fund raising activities; to improve family income and sources of income

We work with poor communities to develop their cottage industries through:

Vocational Education through Apprenticeship; focusing on indigenous knowledge and skills such as pot making with clay, trap setting to control farm pests, painting, carving, weaving, carp[entry, masonry etc
Rehabilitation and construction of Voational Training Centers

IMPROVING ACCESS TO CLEAN WATER AND SANITATION FACILITIES AND SERVICES

APEM_SL_LTD promotes community led initiatives that enable extremely poor and isolated communities in poorest countries like Sierra Leone and Liberia to improve their access to clean water and sanitation facilities. Some initiatives conducted include:

Community Approaches on Total Sanitation (CATS)
Schools Led Total Sanitation(SLTS)
Construction and Rehabilitation of hand pump community or school based wells, and ventilated improved pit toilets
